If you watched the Comey Senate hearing yesterday, Republican Senators seemed to score points against the New York Times by getting the former FBI Director Comey to state a February story was wrong. The story was about Trump campaign officials having contact with Russian intelligence.
The New York Times defended itself. The Times states that the FBI has a narrow definition of who is an intelligence official. Reporter Michael Schmidt was a guest on The Rachel Maddow show. This issue is addressed in the video below at the 7:30 mark. Rachel also notes that multiple news outlets corroborated the Times story.
Hey, conservative Republicans. Yeah, the Times could have gotten it wrong. But unlike you, they're trying to get to the truth. And right now, I trust the American news media rather than you.
