The mess in Egypt

If you're wondering what is going on in Egypt, Rachel Maddow did an excellent summary of what happened and what is going on now. In short, the people of Egypt overthrew Hosni Mubarak. A few years later they elected Mohamed Morsi. Now before you get excited, he's a member of the Muslim Brotherhood. A group that wants to have an Islamic theocracy. Let's just put it this way, they don't believe in freedom of religion unless you're a Muslim. Anyway, the people complained of the crackdown on civil liberties by Morsi and he was overthrown by the military. Now Morsi's people are taking to the streets and the military is putting them down with loss of life. It's a a mess for us. Supporting the military would be to endorse a coup. What Egypt needs is a Bill of Rights. Here's Rachel's piece.
