Do the Republicans want to extort the country to stop Obamacare?

Chris Matthews at Hardball is reporting that the Republican right want to default on the national debt to stop Obamacare. It's like this. The debt ceiling is not about more spending. It's about allowing the United States pay it's debts that have already been incurred. Sorry Republicans, Obamacare is the law of the land. Not raising the debt ceiling is a scorch the earth policy.
