Trump walks into a legal trap

President Donald Trump can't keep his mouth shut. He tweeted that Stormy Daniels was lying about a man who threatened her. His tweet reads, "A sketch years later about a nonexistent man. A total con job, playing the Fake News Media for Fools (but they know it)!" Huffington Post. If I was Trump's lawyer I would tell him that he's got to stay out of litigation at this time because that leads to discovery and eventually to his deposition. You really don't want to be talking about having sex with an adult film actress. And you certainly don't want to be asked under oath why she was paid off since that can lead to a charge of campaign finance violations.

Of course, the conservative authoritarian can't help himself. So, now he's just tweeted his way into a defamation suit. Here comes the depositions. Trump is like Sideshow Bob in The Simpsons who keeps walking into rakes and hitting himself. (Video below.)

Stephen Colbert's hilarious take on Rick Santorum's idiotic comments regarding high school student protests

Stephen Colbert was on fire Monday night. In the second part of his monologue, he covers former Senator and conservative Rick Santorum's idiotic comment that the high school protesters should do something else than protesting over gun violence. You see he wanted them to learn CPR. The problem is the students were doing what our Constitution wants us to do. Redress government. Get them to pass legislation to address a problem. Santorum, you are an idiot. Colbert then covers Trump's inability to get a lawyer to represent him and channels his inner Sinatra. Great stuff. Than you Stephen for helping us cope with a fascist in the White House.

Lawrence O' Donnell demolishes conservative Trump's fantasy of arming school teachers

It sounds like a clever idea to protect our kids from school shooters. Arm school teachers. It's an idea that comes from conservative Republicans. Yesterday, conservative President Trump proposed it. Well, when you think about it, we realize this is fantasy. Lawrence O' Donnell destroys this fantasy in this MSNBC video. He tells you a couple of problems. Crossfire. Taking down a shooter armed with an assault weapon with a handgun. Conservatives, I can agree that a very smart robot could defend our kids. But since that technology is science fiction and probably a couple hundred years away, arming teachers is dangerous.

Trump accuses Democrats of treason for not applauding him

Yesterday, conservative President Trump accused Democrats of treason because they didn't applaud him during his State of the Union speech. (Washington Post Commentary)

“Somebody said ‘treasonous.’ I mean, yeah, I guess, why not? Shall we call that treason? Why not? I mean, they certainly didn’t seem to love our country very much.”

Treason is defined by the Constitution in Article 3. It's giving aid and comfort to the enemy in a time of war. It is not lawful dissent. Trump has now labeled his critics as traitors. This is about as un-American as one can get. In this country, the United States, we have free speech. That's what makes us so great. From the marketplace of ideas, truth can spring out. Only totalitarian governments endorse allegiance to a dictator who demands total loyalty.

It's so serious that I need a laugh to ease the fear that I have for America. In the 1974 Mel Brooks comedy, Blazing Saddles, the totally inept Governor Lepetomane (Mel Brooks) lectures a state congressman for not "harrumphing" enough. Check out the funny clip below.

The Memo is a pretext to fire Rosenstein

So now we know conservative President Trump's next strategic move to throttle the Mueller investigation on whether there was any collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians. It's from the "fire Comey" move. Remember how Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosentein drafted a memo the was critical of FBI Director James Comey? Yeah, he was fired right after its publication by Trump. So today Trump and conservative Republican Cong. Devin Nunes (R-Ca.) release another bogus memo, this time critical of the FBI and the Justice Department. And voila. A reporter asked Trump if he had confidence in Rosenstien. His angry retort. "You figure that one out." CNN. It's the Saturday Night Massacre in slow motion.

Oh and by the way, don't take my word that that "the Memo" was bogus. It's cries about wiretaps on Putin apologist, Trump adviser and goofy Carter Page. It whines about the use of the infamous Steele dossier that it alleges was the basis of FISA warrants. Right away, you know and it's obvious that the Memo cherry picks classified information. There was more information to get those warrants than the Steele dossier.
Huffington Post

Vote liberal Democrat if you want to live.

Here's Rachel Maddow's excellant piece on Carter Page. Yeah, the Russians wanted to recruit him and that was back in 2013. See at 4:00.

Vain, idiot conservative President Trump thinks the Women's March was about him

Hundreds of thousands of people marched in protest on the one year anniversary of Republican President Donald Trump's term of office. This was the second Women's March following last year's protest march of Trump. Of course, the vain and conservative president thought it was about him. He tweeted,

"Beautiful weather all over our great country, a perfect day for all Women to March. Get out there now to celebrate the historic milestones and unprecedented economic success and wealth creation that has taken place over the last 12 months. Lowest female unemployment in 18 years!"

What an idiot. This is coming from a man who looks at the sun directly during an eclipse. God help us. Speaking of God, thank her for our late night comedians. Here's Stephen Colbert and Seth Myers with their takes. And to quote Trump from a tweet, "Enjoy."

General Kelly has become a four star idiot

Lost in the President Trump-Rep. Frederica Wilson controversy is the fact that Chief of Staff, General Kelly has made idiotic statements in the past in the defense of conservative Republican Trump. Last May, he defended trump's son-in-law for trying to establish a back channel through the Russian embassy that would defeat the CIA and FBI.

“I don’t see a big deal. I think any channel of communication, back or otherwise, with a country like Russia is a good thing.” DHS Secretary John Kelly From Fox News Sunday; Politico.

Yep. That was a four star general defending son-in-law, Jared Kushner, for attempting to set up a secret back channel that would run out of the Russian embassy to defeat the FBI and the CIA. An idiot would not wonder "Why do this?" A smart person would be suspicious because there's one major reason you would do this. To do something illegal with the Russians. You see this is not something to keep out of the press. The press don't have the ability to surveil the Russians that the FBI does. And if you're doing something legal, the FBI wouldn't do anything.

So, again General Kelly made an idiot of himself. When conservative President Trump made a "condolence" call to the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson and said Sgt. Johnson "knew what he was getting himself into" or "knew what he signed up for", Kelly defended him. (Video below) The phrase "he knew what he was getting himself into" is not a statement of empathy or respect. It means that a person is at fault for his situation. For example, if you go to a baseball game and get hit with a foul ball, you knew what you were getting into. It's similar to the legal defense, assumption of the risk. It is not a phrase of empathy or nobility.

And by the way, General Kelly. Rep. Wilson did not eavesdrop on Trump's "condolence" call. The widow, Myeshia Johnson put it on speakerphone. She was a close friend of the Johnson family. (Huffington Post with ABC video.)

Lawrence O' Donnell's excellent video essay on why General Kelly made racist comments by referring Rep. Wilson as an "empty barrel."

Comedy Central shows that Trump supporters are idiots

Jordan Klepper (The Daily Show) trolls Trump supporters and finds out that they are really idiots. I mean they are so obsessed with Hillary Clinton that they are signing petitions to impeach her. Hey you Trump fanatics. She isn't in office. Any office. Not president. Not senator. Nothing. This is what is wrong with some conservatives. It's all blinding hatred. Facts don't matter to these folks.

People, vote liberal Democratic if you want to live. Anyway, check out the video.

Bill Maher destroys Rush Limbaugh, the conservative coward

Republican Rush Limbaugh has been touting that Hurricane Irma is this liberal conspiracy between the media and retailers to get people to by water and supplies. In essence, he's saying it's not that big a deal. Well, the "big fat idiot" as Senator Al Franken once called him is evacuating his Florida digs. CNN report. What a hypocrite and coward. IF he really thought Irma was nothing, he would not be running. Thank goodness for Bill Maher. Here's his monologue for Real Time where he torches the idiot. Be warned, he drops an F bomb. And remember folks. Vote liberal Democrat, if you want to live.

Trump campaign officials attempt to collude with the Russians

We've been hearing for weeks from conservative President Donald Trump that there was no collusion between his campaign and the Russians. Now over the weekend there was a report that campaign official and son Donald Trump Jr., son-in-law Jared Kushner and campaign manager Paul Manafort met with a Russian lawyer who had connections with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The purpose of the meeting? To see if she had dirt on Hillary Clinton.

This was no mere opposition research. A foreign agent for a hostile country reached out to the Trump campaign to help influence an American election. It gets worse. According to Trump Jr., there was talk about starting up Russian adoptions. Folks, to do that, you need to repeal the Magnitsky Act unless Putin was going to unilaterally give in. Ha. Check out the videos from MSNBC's Morning Joe detailing the meeting and the possible legal jeopardy for the actors. By the way, the White House is not disputing the meeting.

Rand Paul is an idiot

Conservative Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky) is selling the working people of Kentucky a bill of goods. On Morning Joe, Paul is asked about what he would say to the working people of Kentucky who are going to be kicked off Medicaid under the proposed Republican health care plan. I've got the video below and check out his "answer" at about the six minute mark. He doesn't answer the question. That's because he clearly doesn't like Medicaid and the Medicaid expansion under Obamacare. He then proposes "legalizing" health insurance to be priced at $1.00 a day. Not realistic.

Look, legalizing health insurance at $1.00 per day sounds great. Note that Paul doesn't say he would mandate insurance companies to sell it at that price. At this time no health insurance company is going to sell health insurance at that price. The only way that happens is if there is a large pool of consumers and huge amount of insurance companies competing to sell policies. Since the Republican plan gets rid of the individual mandate, there won't be that guaranteed pool of consumers. Insurance companies won't have enough in premiums to make a profit. Um.. Rand, insurance companies don't make money paying claims. There will be less insuarance companies hoping in to increase competition. You sir are an idiot.

Get insurance companies out of health insurance. This country should go to a single payer plan, i.e., Medicare for all.

New Idiots: John Kelly and H.R. McMaster

Loyalty to conservative Republican President Donald Trump has made two new idiots out of honorable men. Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly and National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster defended White House adviser and Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner for attempting to set up a covert communication line to the Kremlin. Here's what the two gentlemen said via Politico:

“I don’t see a big deal. I think any channel of communication, back or otherwise, with a country like Russia is a good thing.” DHS Secretary John Kelly From Fox News Sunday

"We have back-channel communications with any number of individual” countries, So generally speaking, about back-channel communications, what that allows you to do is communicate in a discreet manner." National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster. From Reuters.

WTF? I say again, WTF?!

First, let me remind these security officials and military men. Russia is not our friend. They are often our adversary. See Cold War. Yeah, the Cold War is over but Russia is not a real democracy. The Communists were replaced by oligarchs with Vladimir Putin as the authoritarian leader. Two, the Russians hacked the Democratic National Committee with the intent to get Trump elected. Every American intelligence agency agrees with this. Three, Kushner did not just want a "back channel" with the Russians. He wanted a secure channel with the Kremlin that would keep out American intelligence and law enforcement. That's not innocent.

So sorry, Mr. Kelly. This covert channel is not a good thing. Kushner was not just picking up the phone and talking to the Russians. He wanted a channel using Russian decryption to keep out the United States. Can't think of any innocent reason for this. Just listen to intelligence expert Malcolm Nance in the MSNBC video below at the three minute mark. The things that Kushner could communicate to the Russians: American secrets, perhaps negotiate a deal with the Russian bank he had contact with. Maybe exchange the end of sanctions for loans. It boggles the imagination.

And with all due respect, General McMaster, your defense is just brainless. This was not just any country that Kushner wanted covert communications with. It was freaking Russia! Remember, our adversary. And again, it was to be done so American law enforcement and intelligence could not hear. the logical conclusion is that Kushner was afraid whatever was said had legal implications.

Gentlemen, you are idiots.

Trump says Australia's universal healthcare is better than America's

LOL. President Donald Trump praised Australia's single payer healthcare as a plan that is "better healthcare than we do." Hey, Lying Donald, Australia's healthcare is government sponsored, i.e. it's basically a Medicare for all. The cruel plan you and the Conservative Republicans passed which guts pre-existing guarantees of insurance and Medicaid is nothing like Australia's. You see no one has to worry about paying for healthcare in Australia since the government pays for it. You sir are an idiot. (By the way, Trump later tweeted that Australia does have better healthcare on Friday. Business Insider.)

The irony was not lost on former presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders. (I-Vt.) He was a guest on MSNBC's All In with Chris Hayes. Watch him burst out into laughter when he heard Trump praise Australia's auniversal healthcare plan. (From The Independent, below.) I agree with Sanders. Okay, Lying Donald. Get Congress to pass a single payer universal healthcare plan. Medicare for all. I mean you do say that Australia has a better plan.

Some conservative Republicans are idiots

Now let me say this now. Not all conservative Republicans are idiots or act like idiots all of the time. Hey, I'm not a liberal version of Ann Coulter. But over the last week, two conservative Republicans have shown they can be idiots. They are Representative Jason Chaffetz of Utah and Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson. Let's go over what they said.

1. Rep. Jason Chaffetz. He told CNN in regards to the conservative Republican plan to repeal Obamacare and replace it with something that may not cover the working poor this right-thought,

"Americans have choices, and they've got to make a choice. So rather than getting that new iPhone that they just love and want to go spend hundreds of dollars on that, maybe they should invest in their own health care."

CNN

You sir are an idiot. Any average American will tell you that her monthly health insurance premium is ten times the monthly smartphone fee.

2. HUD Secretary Ben Carson. In speech before HUD employees, Secretary Ben Carson said this,

"That’s what America is about. A land of dreams and opportunity. There were other immigrants who came here in the bottom of slave ships, worked even longer, even harder for less."

Huffington Post, with video of Carson.

You sir are an idiot. Dr. Carson, yes believe it or not he is a brain surgeon, slaves were not immigrants. They did not voluntarily come to the United States. They were kidnapped. Mr. Samuel L. Jackson, what do you say about this? Okay, not going to embed his response but let's just say it's a catchphrase. (Caution, cussing involved.) Oh, there . was other crazy stuff in his speech. We need Stephen Colbert's commentary on this.
