Rachel Maddow on Friday's show talked about Rush Limbaugh's comments on Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown law student whom he called a "slut" and "prostitute." She then questioned whether Limbaugh or Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney understand how hormonal birth control works. With Romney she points out that with his position that life begins at conception, he would ban birth control. Reason? Birth control can stop a fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus. Hence it would be murder under Romney's definition and contraception would have to be banned. Anyway, here's Friday's piece and the piece on birth control she did on October 20, 2011.
Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer, not a politician. His opinions are popular with people who are attracted to the image of an old drug addict with a smoldering phallus hanging out of his mouth.
