He's a...I actually like the Matt Jones signing. He's a big guy (6'6") and will open up the field. He won't be a huge down field threat as he has never exhibited the speed he was thought to have. However, on 3rd downs and in the red zone, he will make a HUGE difference. I assume we signed him to a 1 year contract just above league minimum, meaning he is low risk high reward. If he can be anything like he was in Jacksonville, and can stay away from the white stuff, he will be a great addition.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be surprised if the Bengals still sign T.O. and release Laveranues. I also seem to be the only person who feels Coles could still be an effective receiver. I don't understand why you would want to go after 37 year old T.O. when you are looking for speed. It's obvious he's lost a step or two. If anything I would stay with what we have then get Gresham first round and Dexter Mcluster in the second. Right there that would be a pretty damn good receiving core.

As to the Pacman workout, first off, we worked him out. We haven't offered him a contract yet, so there is no harm in what we did. Apparently he worked out for the first time in 6 months, earlier this month. Therefore, I would guess that we aren't interested right now.

At the end of the day though, the Bengals aren't running a boy scout camp, they are trying to do whatever they can to put together a winning team RIGHT NOW. If that means they take some chances, so be it.

Just my two cents,
-Nednedc203noreply@blogger.com
